Lorraine Margaret (Kiel) Orf

Lorraine Margaret Orf of Wentzville, MO passed away on April 10, 2024 at the age of 77.  She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Orf of Wentzville. 

Margaret was born in Batchtown, IL on December 3, 1946 to Melvin B. and Marie E. (Eschbach) Kiel. 

Margaret and Kenny were married at St. Joseph Church, Josephville on October 24, 1964 and to this union five children were born.  
She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Josephville and a member of the St. Elizabeth Ladies Sodality.  She worked hard all her life and loved farming, gardening, and canning her produce.  Her favorite pastimes were camping and fishing.  Margaret’s true joy was sewing and quilting.  She also loved playing Bingo and knew every bingo and quilt social date in the two-state area.  

She had several jobs over the years and retired from RK Stratman where she sewed anything and everything for them. 

She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kenny Orf; her two sons, Melvin (Sara) Orf of Wentzville, MO and Keith Orf of Wentzville, MO; two daughters, Cindy (Bob) Sutton of O'Fallon, MO, Jennifer (Mike) Harbick of Bellingham, WA; three brothers, Melvin B. (Virginia) Kiel Jr. of Herman, MO, Marvin (Sheri) Kiel of St. Louis, MO, Mark (Dianne) Kiel of Wentzville, MO; two sisters, Marcella Boschert of Jonesburg, MO and Marsha Kiel of Wentzville, MO; seven grandchildren, Emily (Ben) Fick, Caitlin (Logan) Shores, Natalie Sutton, Grace Orf, Joseph  Harbick, Maggie Harbick, Nathan (Elisha) Sutton; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Adeline, Jones, and Emmett; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Marie Kiel and daughter, Christina.
