Obituary
Ann Averill Bohmer passed away on November 25, 2012 at Whispering Pines Retirement Community. Ann was born in Birmingham, Michigan on May 17, 1933, the daughter of Dr. Edgar Waite and Barbara Briggs Averill. As a child Ann enjoyed summers at the family home at Henderson Harbor, New York on the shores of Lake Ontario.She received a Bachelor's degree in music from Wittenberg College in Springfield, Ohio in 1955 and began a career in music education.Ann met Josef Bohmer a native of Kapfenburg, Austria while skiing in Michigan.They were married in 1960.Ann and Joe lived many adventure filled years in Alaska where Ann furthered her teaching career, often in remote locations.They returned to the lower 48 and lived in California where Joe died in 1997.Ann moved to Warrenton, Missouri in 2006 to become a full time volunteer with the Child Evangelism Fellowship.While in Warrenton, she became an active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church where was the accompanist to the senior choir.
Ann is survived by her brothers Edgar Waite Averill (Janet) of LaHabra Heights, California and Jeffrey Briggs Averill (Harriet) of Marcellus, New York as well as loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, Warrenton at 5:00 p.m. on December 2, 2012. Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Fellowship Baptist Church.
