Charles R. Mercer passed away on August 2, 2017 at the age of 79. He was the beloved husband of Myrna Mercer nee Natland of Chesterfield, Missouri; He is survived by his two daughters, Robin L. (David) Meyer of O Fallon, MO, Cheryl C. (Kevin) Kohler of Chanhassen, MN; son, Mark R. Mercer of O Fallon, MO; four grandsons, Brett Stephen Kohler, Jared Brian Meyer, Justin Michael Meyer, Chase Richard Mercer; two granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Kohler, Haleigh Lynn Mercer; sister, Diane E. (Dennis) Taylor of Huntington Beach, CA; He is preceded in death by his father, Richard K. Mercer, mother, Leah M. Mercer. Charles was an electrical engineer at Douglas Aircraft Company, Director of Quality Assurance for McDonnell Douglas electronics company, McAir. He was an avid volunteer at Wings of Hope, as well as a member of the Noble Lodge 684, and Moolah Shrine air patrol. Charles was a Assistant Cubmaster and a member of the Order of the Arrow Boy Scouts, a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a volunteer police officer for Chesterfield. Charles was a member of Greentrails United Methodist Church in Chesterfiled, MO. He also was a Golden medal winner for racquetball in the Golden Games. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
