Alice Grau Obituary

Alice Marie Grau passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022 surrounded by her family, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  Alice was born on June 17, 1947 in Richmond Heights, Missouri to the late Hillard and Frances (Taylor) Moore, and was a graduate of Pattonville High School.  She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Dwight; devoted mother to Kurt (Chris) Grau, Matt (Denise) Grau, Ben (Blaine) Grau; loving grandmother to Amanda, Brittany, Caty, Kaley, Ryan, Zac, Adeline, Elliot; dear sister to Hillard (Dolly) Moore, Barb (Dan) Gittimeier, Mary (Jere) Wilmering, Peggy (Bill) Myers, and Joy (Rich) Barbre.

Alice is preceded in death by her brother, Roger Moore, and one grandchild, Elizabeth.

She was always on the move in her day to day raising three boys and juggling a career as a drywall taper.  Alice was the first female in the St. Louis area Painter's Union, which is a testament to her grit and can-do attitude.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, going on hikes, traveling, and skiing the mountains across the West.  She was a devoted Christian throughout her life and loved bible study.  Alice will be remembered by her one of a kind personality, sarcastic sense of humor, big heart, perseverance, and strong values she instilled in her family.

Memorials may be made to:  Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), National Processing Center, Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011
