Almedia Denny passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026 at the age of 92.
Born on September 10, 1933, in Hickman, Kentucky, Almedia was the daughter of the
late Harry Watson and Grace Watson (nee Armstrong).
Almedia was the devoted wife of the late Lewis “Gene” Denny, with whom she shared a
love of music and faith. She is lovingly survived by her children: Sandy (Michael) Buffa,
Debbie (Curtis) Schmidt, and Ron (Elizabeth) Denny. She also leaves behind her
beloved grandchildren: Nicole, Joshua, Brandon, and Michaela; great-grandchildren,
Amor, Jeremy, Liam, Gracelynn, and Nathyia.
She is survived by three siblings: Joyce Snyder, Glenda Miller, and Ernest Watson, and
two sister-in-laws, Eva Worzel, and Jewel Dean Kidd. Many dear friends will forever
cherish her memory.
Almedia was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis “Gene” Denny, with whom she
shared 64 years before his passing in 2012, her parents, one granddaughter, Heather,
and two grandsons, Jarrod Ross and Nathan Denny, and by her sisters: Clara,
Barbara, Juanita, and Shirley. 
Almedia’s life was a beautiful testament to her unwavering faith. A faithful member of
Pentecostals of Warrenton, she loved her church family and her life was centered
around worship, fellowship, and serving God through the ministries of her church. Her
faith never wavered and was a source of strength and comfort to both herself and those
around her.
A gifted seamstress, Almedia found joy in creating with her hands. She also delighted
in the simple pleasures of life, especially watching the hummingbirds gather outside the
window of her home, marveling at their beauty and grace. Almedia’s greatest love was
her family. She was their steady anchor, offering wisdom, encouragement, and
unconditional love through every season of life. Her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and
caring heart made her the guiding light through life’s storms.
Almedia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of faith,
love, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves
behind.
