Anthony “The Colonel” James Love Sr.
May 20, 1957 - July 14, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony James Love Sr., who departed this life on July 14, 2026, at the age of 69.

Anthony was born on May 20, 1957, and lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family. A proud United States Marine, he carried the values of the Marine Corps with him throughout his life. Once a Marine, always a Marine was more than a saying to Anthony; it was a way of life. He often proudly referred to himself as a Colonel, a reflection of the pride and honor he held for his military service.

Following his time in the Marine Corps, Anthony built an extraordinary 38-year career with The Boeing Company, where he earned the admiration, respect, and friendship of countless coworkers. Known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and willingness to help others, he made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Anthony attended Soldan High School before graduating from Emil Holt High School in Wentzville, Missouri. Throughout his life, he remained deeply committed to his family. As the second oldest of eleven children, he embraced the responsibility of helping care for and support his siblings, always putting family first.

Above all, Anthony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara A. Love (Crumes); his children, Anthony James Love II (Marlie), Tanesha Kristen Peebles (Love) (Donzell), and Phillip Michael Love (Keana). He was a proud grandfather to seven cherished grandchildren: Phillip II, William, Kai, Daisy, Ki’Aire, La’Von, and Keelan each of whom brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

He is also survived by his siblings: Charlie, Terry, Dwight, Sharon, Darren, Damon, and Kelly (Fox), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Love and Ada Mae Love; his sister, Sandy; and his brothers, William (Ned) and Michael.

Anthony will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his commitment to serving others, his infectious sense of humor, and the strength and wisdom he shared with those around him. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the lives he touched, and the countless memories that will continue to bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
