Obituary for Aurea M (Van Beek) Brohammer

Aurea was born May 4, 1936 in Rhineland, MO to Stephen Van Beek (1893-1961) and Florence W. (Knapp) Van Beek (1897-1987) She passed early on the morning of December 15,2025 at the age of 89 years in Wentzville, MO

A Celebration of Life will be held early this Spring.

Aurea (Johnnie) was an animal lover, a very successful gardener, and avid book reader. She enjoyed the many fun times she shared with her family. She was so proud of her children, and her many grand and great granchildren. The wonderful recipes that she brought to gatherings and shared with her family and friends, will not be forgotten. She lived independently, enjoying her freedom until just days before she passed. Aurea was loving, intelligent, kind and empathetic.

Along with her husband Bill, Aurea managed the Sears Catalog Store in Wentzville, MO for many years.

She volunteered at the Mary Martha Thrift Shop, in Wentzville, and the Food Search Pantry in her later years.

Aurea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William L. Brohammer (1923-1993) her brother Richard D. Van Beek (1923-1993) and her sister Marquerite A. (Van Beek) Van Booven (1929-2016)

She is survived by her son Stephen C Brohammer his wife Sharon A (Thomeczek) Brohammer, of New Melle, MO, and her son Ralph M Brohammer , his wife Melody (Odom) Brohammer of Foristell, MO

Her Grandchildren; Leslie (Brohammer) Sisco and her husband Kyle Sisco

Meghan (Brohammer) Ames and her husband Tomy Ames

Nichole (Brohammer) Fuegner and her husband Jake Fuegner

Lauren (Brohammer) Flaugher and her husband Joseph Flaugher

Ryan Brohammer and his wife Vicky (Garland) Brohammer

Her Great Grandchildren; Cohen Mcghee, William Sisco, Bee Ames, Anax Ames, Lee Ames, Rowan Ames, Echo Ames, Brightly Ames, Kallie Fuegner, Grant Fuegner, Aurea Flaugher, Finn Flaugher and Lucy Flaugher
