Barbara Ella Madonna, age 90, passed away on May 5, 2026. Born on November 19, 1935, to Herbert and Vera Vines.
Barbara and her husband, Michael raised their family in Florissant, Missouri. In her retirement, she and her beloved husband, Michael, made their home in Wentzville, where they enjoyed many years together.
Barbara took great pride in her career in medical technology, entering the field at a time when few women were represented. She later continued her education, earning an Associate’s Degree in Library Science, combining her love of learning with her deep appreciation for books and children.
After retirement, Barbara remained active in her community, especially through quilting at St. Theodore Catholic Church. She had a creative spirit and found joy in writing letters and crafting beautiful handmade Stampin’ Up cards. She also cherished time spent playing games with family and friends, especially Skip-Bo, Bananagrams, and Scattergories.
Family was at the heart of Barbara’s life. She found great joy in gathering loved ones together to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries, creating lasting memories for generations.
She is survived by her devoted husband of over 67 years, Michael Madonna; her six children, David (Shelley) Madonna, Cathy (Dan Gibbons) Madonna, Susan (Scott) Welch, Jim (Ellen) Madonna, Janet (Paul) Silker, and Laura (Mike) Haller; her grandchildren, Elise Madonna, Claire Madonna, Nathaniel (Rachel) Madonna, Theresa (Kevin) Olson, Scott (Maggi) Welch, Caroline Haller, and Audrey Haller; and her great-grandchildren, Maren, Charlotte, Addie, Adele, and Aiden.
