Barbara Stevenson Obituary

Barbara Stevenson passed away on October 12, 2020 at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of Fonzy Stevenson of Wentzville, Missouri; She is survived by her son, Steven (Donna) Stevenson of Hazelwood, MO; daughter, Janice (Mike) Pool of O'Fallon, MO; sister, Elizabeth Jean Barksdale of East Prairie, MO;  five grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Parks, Rebecca Sue (Andres Morales) Stevenson, Katherine (Korey) Klosterhoff, Amy (Kris) Kern, Rachel (Zak) Meyer; ten great-grandchildren, Kayley Jean, Rowan Hurley, Owen Michael, Henry James, Dewey Steven, Stella Rae, Maxwell Alan, Myra Jane, Jack Francis, Louise Marie. 

Barbara loved to cook and she was known for making the best pecan pie.  She was a beautiful seamstress.  She and Fonzy loved to travel and see our country, visiting libraries everywhere to research genealogy using census records.  She loved her heritage and all of the history surrounding it.  She was a team mom, room mother, and second mother to all of the neighborhood kids.  Barbara loved spending time with her family.  Her ten great-grandchildren held the most special place in her heart.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Kate Welch and sister, Myra Janice Welch. Barbara was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
