With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Beckett John Hager, born into heaven on August 11, 2025, at just 17 weeks. 

He is the precious son of Ryan and Kayla Hager (née Bates) and cherished little brother of William Bates Hager. Beckett’s life was a precious gift from the moment his parents and brother learned of him on Mother’s Day. Though his time on earth was brief, he filled the hearts of his family with joy, laughter, and anticipation. Beckett was profoundly loved, prayed for, and cherished. 

Beckett is deeply loved and remembered by his grandparents, Donald and Carol Bates, and his grandfather, John "Steve" Hager; his great-grandparents, Charles and Vickie Ridgel, Dennis Drake and Mary Ann Bates, Joan Ferro, John Hager, and Richard Bourisaw; his aunts and uncles, Daniel and Amanda Smurl (née Bates) and Mike and Kristi Ferguson (née Hager); and his cousins, Alaina and Mason Smurl, and Cohen and Adleigh Ferguson, along with many other dear family members and friends who joyfully awaited his arrival. 

He is welcomed in Heaven by his grandmother, Susan Grimm, and his great-grandparents, James Neal, Robert Bates, Roy Ferro, Gene Grimm, Doris Bourisaw and Bonnie Coley. 

Though we never got to hold you for long, sweet Beckett, you will be held in our hearts forever. We rest in the promise that we will see you again—whole and healed—in the presence of our Savior.
