Bessie Grace Rodgers

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Bessie "Grace" Rodgers passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025 at the age of 87.
Bessie "Grace" Rodgers born on March 9, 1937 in Greenville, IL was one of 10 children born to Dennie and Barbara Elkins. 
She was preceded in death by her parents Dennie and Barbara Elkins, six siblings, her husband Jim Rodgers, sons, John and Dennie Shaw, and grandson, James Johnson, Jr. 
Grace is survived by her children, Donald Shaw (Yolanda), Merle Shaw (Rita), Ed Shaw (Jennifer), Tom Johnson (Shannon), James Johnson, Minnie Garcia, Dawn Nicolai, and siblings, Mary Jane Blackwell, Minnie Evans, and Bennie Elkins. 
Grace was blessed with 9 children, 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked most of her life as a care giver working at Katie Jane Nursing Home, then worked as a caregiver for several families privately in their own homes. She enjoyed her sweets, watching her westerns, resale shopping, and spending time with her kids. 
Grace will forever be remembered. "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." You are loved by so many and will be missed by all. RIP Grace.
