Brad J. Felmlee

Bradly J. Felmlee of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on August 19, 2025 at the age of 50. He is survived by his mother, Vicki Wood (nee: Bishop) of Wentzville, MO; step-father, Robert Wood, of Wentzville, MO; brother, Adam (Katie) Felmlee of Wentzville, MO; sister, Danielle Felmlee of South Pasadena, CA; two cousins that were like brothers, Chris Felmlee of Ashland, MO and Joshua Felmlee of Italy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; loving companion, Mariamallia Giraldeli Chiuchi. He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Felmlee.  

Brad was born near Cleveland, Ohio, in 1974. He later spent several years in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where he shared many adventures in Scouting with his dad, who served as one of his Scout leaders. Together, they explored the outdoors through unforgettable trips—White-water rafting in Colorado, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and the BSA high adventure base in the Florida Keys’s. Brad’s dedication and leadership earned him the rank of Eagle Scout, an honor achieved by fewer than 4% of Scouts.

Brad graduated from Parkway West High School in Ballwin, Missouri, where his love for music flourished. He played in Honor Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Band, and later chose southwest Missouri State University in Springfield for its strong band program, studying under Jerry Hoover. He went on to earn his master’s degree from Missouri Baptist University.

Music remained Brad’s lifelong passion. He played with several St. Louis- area ensembles, including the Gateway City Big Band, 636 Big Band, Genesis Jazz Project, Knights of Swing, and St. Louis Symphony Winds. His baritone saxophone was his voice, though he also mastered alto and tenor sax. Even through illness, he pushed himself to regain the strength to play. With his trademark humor, he once remarked, “ Well, there are trumpets in Heaven, so I’m confident there will be saxophones too.” Brad’s love for music extended beyond performance; he joyfully mentored young musicians, helping them improve their technique and encouraging their growth.

Outside of music, Brad built a distinguished career in technology. He supported a wide range of organizations in implementing and deploying innovative solutions across cybersecurity, cloud services, and beyond. Most recently, he served as Global Director of Microsoft Practice & Cloud Strategy for Publicis Sapient.

Brad was also an avid baseball fan. Attending the Cardinals’ opening day was a highlight on his bucket list, and whether his team won or lost, he cherished every game.

Above all, Brad’s life was defined by his deep love for family and friends. During his illness, he displayed remarkable gratitude, kindness, and resilience. His “Bradly dry humor” and steady stream of dad jokes lifted the spirits of everyone around him. He never missed a chance to say “ I love you.”

Although Brad did not have children of his own, he adored his nieces, Piper and Emmy, daughters of his brother Adam, often filling their lives with music. He also became lovingly close with Mariamallia’s two children, Lucas and Luci—who affectionately nicknamed him “Brad Brad,” a name that stuck with all the children.

Even in the hospital, Brad lived out his faith with courage and compassion, praying with and for fellow patients, nurses, and doctors. His faith in Christ was the foundation of his life, a source of hope and strength since his youth.

Brad is now free, and he is Home.

In lieu of flowers, we spoke with a middle school in our community of Wentzville who has a program to help students with rentals and such, of instruments to learn to play.

When Brad was starting middle school, a man came into the auditorium and played “Pink Panther” on a Saxophone. That was all it took for him. He started learning to play in school and LOVED it. Brad would like all children to have the opportunity to play and see if it becomes a passion for them. We would like to be part of the middle school Scholarship Fund.
