Carol Potter of Creve Coeur, Mo passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at the age of 84 years.
She is survived by five children, G. Alan Welch and wife, Amy of Tennessee, Grace Marie Welch-Weiss of Lake Sherwood, MO, Kimberly G. Stephan and husband, Michael of Villa Ridge, MO, John Lance Welch and wife, Lori of St. Peters, MO, and Jeffrey S. Welch and significant other, Cheryl Rich of Fenton, MO; two brothers, James Hammond and wife, Carol of Surprise, AZ, and R. Joseph Hammond and wife, Norrita of Macomb, IL; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.
Carol Marie Potter was born October 27, 1937 in Grand Forks, ND; daughter of the late Samuel Willard Hammond and wife, Helen Marie Bolack Hammond. Carol received her Bachelor Degree from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. She was married to George Welch and five children were born to this marriage. Carol worked as a Medical Technologist at St. Vincent DePaul Hospital, later DePaul Hospital, and finally with Smith-Kline-Beecham Laboratories. She later in life married Harold Potter and he preceded her in death in August of 2015.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Carol was a resident at Brookdale Senior Living in Creve Coeur, MO where she enjoyed friendships made and their activities. She also enjoyed sewing and boating through the years.
She was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Deborah Welch in 2013.
