Carolyn Jane Bunner of Foristell, MO passed away on June 2, 2026 at the age of 84. Carolyn was born in Battlefield, Missouri, the daughter of Alfred and Dora Zulauf. 

A lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Foristell, Carolyn loved Jesus and faithfully served her church community throughout her life. She dedicated many years to educating children, retiring from the Wentzville School District as a teacher. Even after retirement, her passion for teaching continued as she spent several years working at Immanuel Lutheran Preschool.

Carolyn enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. She loved baking, watching birds, gardening, sewing, and quilting. She found joy in creating, nurturing, and sharing her talents with those around her.

Above all else, Carolyn cherished her family. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and caring spirit touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her three children, Janice Bunner Burns of O'Fallon, Missouri, James (Patty) Bunner of Wright City, Missouri, and John (Sarah) Bunner of Leigh, Nebraska; her sister, Marian (John) Witiak of Union Bridge, Maryland; nine grandchildren, Nathan Burns, Emily Burns, Rebecca Burns, Kelly (Andrew) Presley, Emilie Rose Gray, Morgan Bunner, Lily Bunner, Vivian Bunner, and Drew (Jackie) Kozik; and her great-granddaughter, Lily Presley.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Dora Zulauf, and by her beloved husband of 50 years, Russell Bunner, who passed away in 2017.

Carolyn loved helping others and was a friend to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle heart, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends.
