Carolyn Duncan Obituary

Carolyn Ann Duncan (née:Kinion) of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on April 1, 2026, at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late David Duncan M.D.; She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Carole) Duncan, Steven (Aletha) Duncan; brother, James (Patti) Kinion Jr.; two sisters, Mary Lee Crain, and Elaine (Ron) Green; grandchildren, Zacharias, Connor, Alena, Lelia, Caleb, and Peyton; many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her Father, James Kinion, Mother, Florence Kinion (née: Finley), brother-in-law, Leroy Crain.

Carolyn was united in marriage to David on August 6, 1960, in Jonesburg, Missouri. From this union, they were blessed with two sons, Michael and Steven. They celebrated 54 wonderful years before David’s passing in 2014. 
Carolyn was a lifelong learner and dedicated professional. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri and later received her Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Counseling from the University of Missouri St. Louis. She began her career as a Registered Nurse, serving faithfully for 10 years before turning her focus to her family and managing the family farm in Wentzville beginning in 1976.

In 1985, Carolyn returned to school to pursue her passion for helping others through counseling. After completing her studies, she established her own private counseling practice, where she touched many lives with her compassion and wisdom.

A woman of deep faith, Carolyn hosted Bible study classes in her home on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays for several years. She was a devoted member of Chapel of the Lake, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher.

In her free time, Carolyn found great joy in quilting, a hobby she truly loved.

Carolyn will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
