Charles Kinamore, III Obituary

Charles S. Kinamore III, a Manassas, VA resident since 1988, died on January 22, 2023 at Prince William Medical Center. He was born on May 22, 1942 in St. Louis MO. Charles grew up on the family farm in Dardenne, Mo. The farm was later sold in 1980.

He served in the MO Air National Guard Reserve for six years as an air traffic controller while working for Lammert Furniture and Craig Furniture in St. Louis and Clayton, respectively, for several years. In 1974, Charles moved to Virginia and started Charles Kinamore Interiors. He was hired for projects in New York City, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Charleston, SC, Sissy Spacek’s farm in Charlottesville, VA, The Senate Office Building, the Reagan White House and the Scalby Estate in Boyce, VA.

Charles moved to Manassas after selling Pennygent Farm in Rectortown, VA and has lived with his beloved labradoodle, Cooper, since 2011. As a member of All Saints Catholic Church since 1990, he was on several committees as well as a lector. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus George Brent Council #5332 and a member of the Manassas Chamber of Commerce until his retirement.

Charles enjoyed G-gauge model railroading, photography and watercolor classes and growing Asiatic lilies and Dutch irises in his front yard. He frequently used the word “WONDERFUL” to describe beautiful colors, good friends, food, Christmas and life.

Charles is predeceased by: his father, Judge Charles S. Kinamore, Jr., his mother, Julia C.(Stock) Kinamore; two brothers, James R. and Richard A. Kinamore; and two sisters, Jane Ellen Kinamore and Mary Beth Maty & husband Tony, and one nephew Justin Esses. He is survived by: one brother John J. (Jack) Kinamore and wife Karen in Wentzville, MO; two sisters, Rita and husband Gary Esses in Chesterfield, MO and Rosemary and husband Richard Tourigny in St. Peters, MO; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardenne Prairie, Mo(original stone church). Burial will be at the family grave in Immaculate Conception Church cemetery in Dardenne Prairie, MO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7701 State Rte N Dardenne Prairie, Mo 63368 for Masses in memory of Charles Kinamore III or for Immaculate Conception Building Fund.
