Charles Edward Skillman passed away on July 16, 2021 at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Vi Skillman nee Ruebling of Wentzville, Missouri. He is survived by his two sons, Jason (Julie) Skillman of Troy, MO, Corey (Jennifer) Skillman of Warrenton, MO; daughter, Andrea (Luke) Lasater of Wentzville, MO; seven grandchildren, Alexander Skillman, Nathan Skillman, Logan Skillman, Audrey Skillman, Remington Lasater, Wesley Lasater, Gwendolyn Lasater. He is preceded in death by his father, Archie J. Skillman, mother, Maude Elizabeth Skillman nee Engel, and sister, Margaret Skillman. Charlie grew up in Jonesburg, Mo and attended Montgomery County schools and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesburg. Charlie was drafted on June 26, 1969 into the United States Army and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1975. Charlie was married to the love of his life Vi Skillman for 49 wonderful years. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 39 years. He was a long time member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wentzville. He was a Wentzville resident for 48 years and in that time, he served as a Wentzville Volunteer Firefighter for 15 years, he served four years on the Wentzville Park Board. Charlie was a member of the American Legion for 44 years being at Wentzville American Legion Post 323 for most of those years. He enjoyed serving on the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Team and helping with Patriot Packages. Charlie was honored to be selected to go on the Central Missouri Honor Flight in 2014. His greatest joy was being with his family. He liked hunting, fishing, riding his side by side and taking annual family vacations. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
