Charles Edgar “Chuck” Hutton, 77, of Troy, Missouri passed away peacefully on May 11th, 2025, following complications from a heart attack.
Born on October 5th, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Edgar and Pauline Hutton, Chuck was the eldest of three boys, alongside his brothers William and Richard. He graduated from La Puanta High School and later earned his Associates Degree from Meramec Community College. Following high school, Chuck proudly served four years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. During his service, he was stationed in Thailand, where he supported combat operations by loading aircrafts headed into Vietnam – an experience that shaped his deep sense of duty, discipline, and patriotism.
Chuck met the love of his life, Nancy Susan Gustin, while working together at Burger Chef. The two were married for 52 years. In their younger years the two enjoyed traveling and built a life rooted in love and laughter.
Professionally, Chuck retired from Mastercard after 17+ years in data processing, where he was known for his reliability, work ethic, and quiet dedication to excellence.
A man of strong faith and sharp wit, Chuck loved watching (and yelling) at sports on TV – especially cheering on the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed listening to music, collecting baseball cards, playing chess with his granddaughter, solitaire, reading, drawing, studying history, and watching religious documentaries. Church was a meaningful part of his life where he found joy in fellowship and spiritual reflection. In his later years, he loved pet-sitting his beloved granddogs – Loki, Domino, and Chewie – who always brought a smile to his face, warmth to his heart, and cuddles.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hutton of Troy, MO; his two sons, John David Hutton of Marshall, MO and his significant other Jessica; Micah Paul Hutton of Lake St. Louis, MO and his wife Jenna. He was a proud grandfather to six cherished grandchildren: Mariah, Eternity, Emily, Elyssa, Layla, and Willow.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 1pm at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at St. Joseph’s West Hospital for their compassion and support during Chuck’s final days.
Chuck’s legacy of kindness, faith, and generosity will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
