Cheri Denise Jones passed away on July 9, 2026 at the age of 66. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jerome "Jerry" Jones, Jr.; her father, Mac G. Lay; her mother, Gloria A. (Johnson) Parsons; her son, Jonathan (Rhonda) Jones; two sisters, Cindy (Leroy) Daughtery and Susan (Kevin) Wildt; three step-brothers, Kevin (Cristine) Parsons, Scott (LeAnne) Parsons, and Mark Parsons; step-sister, Kelly Parsons Pontello; granddaughter, Ashley (fiancé Cody) Brown; She is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Jones, step-mother, Fran Lay, and step-father, William Parsons.
Cheri had a wide variety of interests and hobbies that reflected her creativity, curiosity, and playful spirit. She enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, quilting, and sewing, taking great pride in the beautiful things she created with her hands. An avid NASCAR fan, she especially enjoyed cheering on her favorite driver, Kyle Busch. She also had a passion for N scale model trains, model building, and collecting diecast cars. Cheri loved keeping her mind active by working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading, and playing board games with family and friends. Music was another important part of her life, and she enjoyed playing the flute, glass flute, and piano. Whether creating, reading, building, or spending time with loved ones, Cheri found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Cheri's warmth, laughter, and many talents will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who loved her.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in Higginsville, MO.
