Christina "Christy" Lois (Sams) Kerr

Christina Lois Kerr nee’ Sams was born in Amarillo, Texas on December 25, 1958 to Clyde and Dorothy Sams.  She went home to Jesus on November 5, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister LaNette Moore. 

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim Kerr; her children, Tabitha and her husband Daniel Frederich and Josh and his wife Erica Kerr; six wonderful grandchildren, Jeremiah, Landon, Leah, Bryce, Jordyn, and Bentley; her siblings, Tresa Murphy, Darrell Sams, Denise (Bob) Prisk, Clarice (Bill) Twiggs; her in-laws, Carl and Nancy Kerr; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Christy was a devoted pastor’s wife, supporting her husband in ministry serving the Lord and his church in Ellington, MO, McDougal, AR, Jonesboro, AR, Hannibal, MO, Fenton, MO, Caseyville, IL, El Dorado, AR, and Fairview Heights, IL.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Wentzville, MO.  She was an avid student of the Bible and loved to impart the truth of God’s Word, especially to younger woman, mentoring many young mothers in the role of motherhood.  She truly loved to worship the Lord.  She was also a teacher to many children for 30 years where she made a daily impact in their education and godly life.  She was a servant of God knowing her purpose on this earth and devoting her life to Him.  Family and her God meant more to her than anything and while we miss her, we celebrate her life knowing that she is with Jesus and one day we will see her again.

Her life will be celebrated at First Baptist Church in Wentzville, MO on November 18, 2023.  Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with the service to follow at 3:00 pm.  If you wish to honor her, please do so by giving to the missions trip program at First Baptist Church in Wentzville.
