Clemence Henry Hagenhoff

Clemence H. Hagenhoff, affectionately known as "Clem", passed away peacefully at his home on October 27, 2025 at the age of 90. Clem was born September 30, 1935 in Martinsburg, MO, son of Martin and Pauline Hagenhoff. He was raised with his three siblings, Louis, Rosemary, and Virginia in Martinsburg in a loving home. Clem chose to leave school at age twelve to provide another income for his family. This work led him to find a passion for truck driving. Clem and his brother, Louis started Hagenhoff Brothers Trucking in 1957, and worked together until the tragic loss of Louis in 1969.

Clem met the love of his life, Norma Detweiler, who worked at a propane business he delivered to in Wentzville. They married at St. Patrick’s Church on September 8, 1962. Norma was a key factor in the early success of the business until her passing on September 22, 1985. Clem was a devoted father to their children Steve, Vicki, Rhonda, and Carla. He continued trucking in the business he and Norma grew into Clem Hagenhoff Trucking, Inc. Clem operated the business into his 80’s along with their son and daughter, who continue to operate the business today.

Clem persevered through many hardships in his life with his devoted Catholic faith, he was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. His faith and family were most important to him. He found peace and happiness in family gatherings and celebrations. Clem had a genuine charm about him that attracted, influenced, and inspired others, mentoring many in the trucking industry. He was well known for the pride he took in his trucks. His kind spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his four children, Steve (fiancée Cathy Schmitz) Hagenhoff of Moscow Mills, MO, Vicki Duenke of Jonesburg, MO, Rhonda (Jeff) Richterkessing of Foristell, MO, Carla (Mark) Northcutt of Laddonia, MO; seven grandchildren, Lauren (Danny) Gibson, Jacob (Jamie) Hagenhoff, Olivia (Nathan) Scheulen, Mitch Richterkessing, Jenna (fiancé Dustin Daehn) Richterkessing, Elizabeth Northcutt, Sam Northcutt; ten great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Henry, Aubrey, Cooper, Owen, Shelby, Boone, Emmy, Miller, and Kaia; and many cherished nieces,

nephews, and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Martin Hagenhoff, mother, Pauline Hagenhoff neé Stuckenschneider, wife, Norma Hagenhoff neé Detweiler, his siblings and their spouses, Louis (Shirley) Hagenhoff, Rosemary (Sterling) Kehl, Virginia (Jerry) Guibor. daughter-in-law, Beverly Hagenhoff; son-in-law, Roy Duenke.

Clem was a hard-working family man, a devoted father, grandpa, and great-grandpa who will be dearly missed by his family and friends, along with his extended trucking family.
