Curtis "Curt" Devenport, 68, of Jonesburg, Missouri, passed away on July 14, 2026.

Curt was born on August 4, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Joshua and Mae Devenport (née Jordan). He lived in St. Louis until the age of 14, when he moved with his family to Jonesburg. He graduated from Warrenton High School in 1975. Following graduation, Curt began his career at True Manufacturing, where he faithfully worked for 41 years before retiring.

On October 9, 1982, Curt married the love of his life, Ruth Ann Frauenhoffer, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Jonesburg. Together they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with one daughter, Danielle.

Curt treasured the time he spent with family and friends. He looked forward each year to annual float and fishing trips with his close friends, as well as family vacations to Marco Island, Florida, a tradition that began when Danielle was four years old and continued through the years with his beloved grandson, Frankie.

Retirement suited Curt well. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, visiting flea markets and antique shops, caring for his yard and property, riding his motorcycle, and attending car shows. He was a devoted fan of classic rock, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd. Curt and Ruth also loved traveling throughout Missouri with a close group of friends and trying new restaurants and different kinds of food wherever they went. Curt never knew a stranger, he would stop and talk to anyone, while eating, walmart shopping, or pumping gas. Even while on vacation he would run into someone he knew from Missouri.

Curt is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Ruth Ann Devenport (née Frauenhoffer) of Jonesburg, Missouri; his daughter, Danielle Devenport and Frank Bush of Wellsville, Missouri; his cherished grandson, Frankie Bush; his brother, Roger (Lisa) Devenport of Jonesburg, Missouri; his niece, Sara (Patrick) Howard of Columbia, Missouri; his nephew, Nathan Devenport of Kansas; his great-nephew, Owen Howard; his great-niece, Elsie Jo Howard; and 2 special cousins that grew up with, they were more like sisters to Curt and Roger Pam Van Horn of Warrenton and Nancy Upchurch of Illinois as well as many more cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua and Mae Devenport.

Curt will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to his friends, and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
