Daniel Dickherber of Wentzville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the age of 63 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Dickherber of Wentzville; mother-in-law, Alice Faisy of Cerritos, CA; siblings, Pat (Jim) Wilmes of Josephville, MO, Nick Dickherber of Troy, MO, Walter Dickherber of Troy, MO, Mary “Bonnie” (Paul) Brockmeyer of Wentzville, MO, and Melba Turner of Wentzville, MO; other relatives, and many friends.
Daniel Joseph Dickherber was born July 21, 1960 in Kirkwood, Missouri; son of the late Clem Dickherber and wife, Missouri Bishop Dickherber. Daniel graduated from St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, MO. Dan starting working with his father’s construction company at the age of 14 which led to a career in carpentry until his retirement in July of 2015. Dan was married to Miss Phyllis Martinez October 5, 2005 in St. Charles, Missouri.
Dan loved to travel and on one of his travels he met the love of his life, Phyllis while in Alaska. His travels took him to all 50 states, many countries and continents, his favorite being Africa. He was a “Rock Hound” (amateur rock and mineral collector) who during his travels searched out and collected special rocks, some for display to admire, others to cut, shape, and polish into jewelry for family and friends. He was an avid woodworker and could make everything including furniture and many other treasured items for family and friends. He also enjoyed wood carving, collecting coins and stamps throughout his life, and was a member of the Searchers Gem and Mineral Society and 40+ member of the Carpenters Union.
Dan was also preceded in death by siblings, Rose “Pope” (Charlie) Daly, Martha “Markie” (George) McCleary, Alice (Don) Beeson, Charlie Dickherber, and Louise “Lou Ann” Dickherber; and father-in-law, Edward Martinez.
