Daniel P. Gittemeier, Sr. of Josephville, MO passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the age of 63.  Beloved husband of Beverley Gittemeier nee Burkett; dear son of the late Paul and Dorothy Gittemeier nee Grothe; loving father of Danny (Kari) Gittemeier of Scottsdale, AZ, Troy (Sam Baird) Gittemeier of St. Louis, MO; loving brother to Dave (Denise) Gittemeier of O'Fallon, MO, Cindy (Daryl) Gilley of Foristell, MO, Dale (Kristina) Gittemeier of O'Fallon, MO, Pam (Bill) Dilallo of O'Fallon, MO, Ann (Todd) Barron of Troy, MO, Paul S. Gittemeier of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Duane (Erica) Gittemeier of O'Fallon, MO; dear son-in-law to Bob and Velma Burkett of Centralia, IL; dear brother-in-law to Janet (Al) Vahlkamp of Walnut Hill, IL, and Rob (Tracy) Burkett of Salem, IL; dear uncle and friend to many.  

Dan was a member of St. Joseph Church in Josephville.  He was a longtime employee of McGrath and Associates and a proud member of the Carpenter's Union for over 40 years.  Dan loved to watch sprint car racing on the dirt track and was a proud member of the Knoxville Sprint Car Hall of Fame.  He enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors with his family.  Dan was the oldest of eight children in his family and was known for his all around handyman abilities.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
