Daniel "Danny" Reel Obituary

Daniel Joseph Reel, affectionately known as "Danny" to family and friends, passed away on August 30, 2025. Born on August 25, 1961 in St Charles Mo, son of Walter J. and Mary Ann Reel.

Danny is survived by his two daughters; Danielle (Alex) Alsup and Nicole (Ryan) Swanson; brother, Kenneth (Judy) Reel; sister, Susanne Roethler; sister in law, Cathy Reel; nieces and nephews, Brittney (Chris) Donovan, Meghan Reel, Eric (Tayler) Roethler, Kenneth (fiancé Sarah) Reel Jr., Joshua (Katie) Reel, Jacob Reel, Curtis (Shannan) Reel, Tim (fiancé Mariah) Reel as well as his four grandchildren, Emma Alsup, Lance Alsup, Jaxon Alsup and Scarlett Swanson; and extended family of great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Danny was preceded in death by his father, Walter J. Reel, mother, Mary Ann Reel nee Hathaway, step-mother, Jean Reel, and brother Mike Reel.  

After graduating from Francis Howell High School in 1979, Danny worked at Schnucks in different positions for 46 years. 

Danny had many interests mostly involving being outdoors with his family or friends. He loved watching sports and never missed a St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball game, a St. Louis Blue’s hockey game, Kansas City Chief’s football, or Mizzou football game. His passion for the outdoors led to many fishing trips, hunting excursions and countless camping trips.
