Obituary
David J. Huellewig passed away January 28, 2020 at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife Marie T. Huellewig (Heppermann) of Wentzville, MO and son, Daniel J. (Jennifer) Huellewig of St. Paul, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert H. and Margaret E. Huellewig (Dickherber), brother, James S. Huellewig and sister, Susan Ellen Collier.
David was a very talented individual who succeeded in every career he entertained which included: a parts expert in a junk yard as a young kid; a certified welder for a couple large companies; a draftsman for McDonnell Douglas on fighter jets; an engineer for Continental telephone company; his own family run HVAC business; and a service expert and point person for research and development at True manufacturing. He was proud of his many accomplishments at each of these jobs. Throughout David's life he enjoyed engineering and fabricating many different things ranging from small tools and gadgets to complicated designs of car parts and machinery. Through his passion for engineering he helped many others achieve their goals of building custom products. He incorporated this passion into a business as he designed and built custom street rod suspensions systems and components. His love for cars and drag racing were reignited when his son Dan became of age to race and they built a multi car operation in which as a family they campaigned all over the midwest. He had a way of entering many people's hearts and will be dearly missed by those who knew him well. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Louis Childrens hospital, Shriners hospital St Louis, or a charity of your choice.
