Dean Robert Meyer passed away on March 23, 2026 at the age of 81.
Dean was born May 19, 1944 in Festus, MO to the late John G. and Catherine E. Meyer nee Huene.
Dean proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1968 in Vietnam. Dean worked for IGA in Festus in his younger years. He had moved to North Carolina where he had worked for A&P Grocery as a general manager, after several years there he and the family moved back to Missouri where he started working at IGA in Wright City. He continued his career there until the mid 1980's where he decided to buy into the market and open and operate IGA in Warrenton. Dean loved the Warrenton community and was a very generous, and giving man, and would help anyone out he could. Dean and his wife Alice owned and operated IGA until 2004 when they decided to sell and retire. Dean enjoyed spending his spare time fishing, playing the lottery tickets (all of the gas stations attendants knew him and loved him), having a nice ice cold Pepsi, taking care of his yard, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson as he took great pride in helping to raise them and become who they are today. Dean was an active member of the Faith Christian Family Church in Warrenton and loved being a part of the Marine Corp League and attending meetings and supporting there barbeques.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Nancy) Meyer of Warrenton, MO; two brothers, John (Helen) Meyer of Festus, MO, Don (late Ethel) Meyer of Festus, MO; three sisters, Patricia (Mike) McMillen of Stayton, OR, Mary (Jim) Peterin of Festus, MO, Geralyn (Dr. Charles Prior) Prior of DeSoto, MO; 3 grandchildren, Madison (fiance Andy Tate) Meyer, Ethan Meyer and Paisley Meyer; great-grandson, Tucker Leake; He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice Meyer, brother, Alvin Meyer, sister, Betty Aker, sister, Norma Hunter, sister, Ruth Ann Meyer. Dean's generous heart and smile will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
