Dean was born on December 12, 1934 in St. Louis, MO and departed this life on September 29, 2020, at the age of 85, in Foristell, MO. She is survived by her husband Willis E. (Dodge) Raymer; her two daughters, Marsha (Jack) Oakley and Stacey (Dave) Schimpf both of Warrenton, MO; son, Bill (Kathy) Whyte of Nashville, TN; six granddaughters, Brandi (special friend David Henry) Goforth, Andrea (David) Nelson of St. Charles, MO, Alexis (Mario) Viele of Brooklyn, NY, Kristen (Dr. Gary) Patti of University City, MO, Cathy (special friend Taigh Ramey) St. Germain of San Carlos, CA, Heather (Casey) Peterson of Clarksville, TN; grandson, David (Erin) Oakley of Wright City, MO; nine great-grandchildren, Sydney Goforth of Wentzville, MO, Parker Nelson and Ainsley Nelson both of St. Charles, MO, Cody St. Germain and Jackson St. Germain both of San Carlos, CA, Erin Oakley, Callee Reimers, Eva Oakley, Sadie Clark of Wright City, MO; two brothers, Darrell (Phyllis) Snider of Piedmont, MO, Mike (Kay) Snider of St. Charles, MO; sister-in-law, Carolyn Snider of Weatherford, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
In the early 60's Dean and Dodge owned and operated a Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge agency in Piedmont, MO. After this venture Dean founded Gateway Talent, a booking and management company, and opened it in St. Louis. Dean spent most of her life living and working in the St. Louis area. She was self-employed in the country music industry, booking and managing many country artists. Some well known artists that became special friends included; Crystal Gayle, with husband Bill Gatzimas, Barbara Fairchild and husband Roy Morris, Moe Bandy, Jeanie Pruitt, Narvel Felts, and Jeanie Kendall.
One of the first bands Dean booked was Bill Whyte and Shortline Express. Included in that band, along with Bill, were Dave Powelson and Mark Powelson who have remained very special to Dean. Dean booked, managed and cared for many, many artists through the years, leaving her fair and level-headed guidance on each and every one.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James (Jim) C. and Marie (King) Snider, sister, Shirley (Snider) Sisco and her husband Sonnie, and brother, Jay C. Snider.
