Dianne Sudbrock Obituary

Mrs. Dianne M. Sudbrock passed away on February 9, 2026 peacefully at home in Foristell, after a long battle with cancer. Dianne, daughter of the late Stanley Koch and wife Lavern (nee: Duello), was born November 8, 1957 in Troy, MO. She was 68 years old.

Dianne married the love of her life, Roger D. Sudbrock on April 22, 1977 at St. Theodore Parish in Flint Hill, MO. They built their life on faith and love and were blessed with one daughter, Dawn.

Dianne is loving survived by her husband Roger, daughter Dawn (Ryan) Steffens, grandchildren Andrew and Henry; mother Lavern Koch (nee: Duello); brother, Ronald “Casey” (Pat) Koch; brother-in-law, Leonard (Elaine) Sudbrock; two sister-in-laws, Wanda (Bill) Schellert, and Connie (Paul) Mittler; five nieces, Angela (Robbie) Bruns, Amanda (Bart) Becker, Sheri (Zach) Loftsgard, Dana (Chris) Wernimont, Sara (John) Eaton; three nephews, Joe (Kara) Sudbrock, Doug (Erin) Koch, Adam Mittler (Gabi); extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Koch, father and mother-in-law, Harold and Marjorie Sudbrock.

Dianne began her career at Contel, later known as GTE in Wentzville. After a merger in 1990, she left and started her own business writing resumes, promotional materials, business cards, and other freelancing. She attended many area networking groups to promote and establish her business. In 1996 she joined with other New Melle business owners to establish the area’s own New Melle Chamber of Commerce. Dianne was instrumental in the growth and success of the Chamber, holding many key roles over the years. In 2021, she was recognized for her years of service and was the first recipient of the New Melle Chamber Volunteer award.

As her business grew, Dianne shifted her focus away from resumes and freelance to what she really loved, writing. In June 2000, she began the first edition of The Boone Country Connection. A newsletter for New Melle, Defiance, Augusta and surrounding areas, with special interest stories, local news and advertising. She enjoyed interviewing local residents and writing about their hobbies and achievements. The Boone Country Connection grew to be a community favorite, with folks often anxiously waiting for its arrival each month. The first edition was 12 pgs, with a distribution of 300 copies. When she retired and turned it over to new ownership in 2022, it had grown to 28 pages with over 2100 copies distributed monthly.

In her free time, Dianne enjoyed reading, puzzles, spending time outdoors, scenic drives, and above all, loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was more than a wife, mother and grandmother, she was our best friend and number one supporter. We are shattered without her.
