Dorothy Jean Thompson of Wright City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the age of 80 years.
She is survived by two grandsons, Joshua Thompson and Jeffrey Thompson both of Wright City; one great grandchild, six siblings, Charlotte Nichols of Williamsburg, MO, Ruth Yourdon of Wright City, Carol McGeal of St. Louis, Judy Kay Davidson of Oregon, Dale E. Meadows of Sullivan, MO, and Harold E. Meadows, Jr. of Jefferson City, MO; two special nephews, Andrew Schwartz and Caleb Schwartz, other relatives, and friends.
Dorothy Jean Thompson was born October 11, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri; daughter of the late Harold Eugene Meadows, Sr. and wife, Dorothy Birdine Hahn Meadows. She married James Edward Thompson June 11, 1963 and one son was born to this marriage. She worked at Wentzville Park Care Center for 15 years. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy, MO. She served as a Cub Scout Leader and Boy Scout Leader for 18 years and had received the Boone Award. She enjoyed baking cakes and was a crafty person.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Thompson, Sr.; her son, James Edward Thompson, Jr., and three siblings, Robert Meadows, Henry Meadows, and Pamela Ottinger.
