Dorothy "Rudy" M. Cockrell of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on May 31, 2026, at the age of 83. She is survived by her five children, Scotty (Robin) Cockrell, Rhonda (Larry) Similton, Michele Cockrell, Carla Green, and Kelly Cockrell; sister, Charlene Cruse; grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, Lance, Cameron, Larry, Adriene, Mario, Jamie, James, Alicia, Natalie, Nicole and Jerel; abundance of great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Boston, mother, Collette Mathews Martin, daughter, Wanda Cockrell, three, sisters, and one, brother.
Dorothy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing card games with family and friends, listening to music, especially the oldies, spending time reading her favorite romance novels, and putting together puzzles. A devoted sports fan, Dorothy faithfully cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. She also enjoyed visits to Ameristar, where she could relax and have a little fun.
Known affectionately as the "Candy Lady," she never missed an opportunity to brighten a child's day with a peppermint or a strawberry candy.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
