Dr. Thomas R "Bob" Whitty

A Celebration of Life Service for Dr. Thomas R. “Bob” Whitty will be held Saturday, May 27 at the Bear Creek Golf Club in Wentzville, Missouri. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with a ceremony at 2 p.m. Food, drink and a 500 card tournament will immediately follow.

Bob died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the age of 75. He was born October 18, 1947, in Clarion, Iowa, to Thomas E. and Carol Lien Whitty. In 1965, he graduated from Belmond High School. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1968. After graduation, he volunteered for the draft and entered the Army. While stationed in Wisconsin, Bob met Susan Parent, marrying in 1970. They lived in Germany and Iowa and then settled in Lebanon, Missouri.

Doc Whitty devoted his professional career to healing through chiropractic. He and his wife built and grew Whitty Chiropractic in Lebanon, Missouri, for more than 40 years. He was an independent thinker and problem solver. Away from the office, he enjoyed reading, riding horses, playing cards and shooting pool.

He loved his family and expected excellence from his children. His grandchildren could do no wrong in his eyes, and his granddaughters held a special place in his heart.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 53 years, Sue; children Thomas J. Whitty and his wife Jennifer, Sara Clark and her husband John, Jennifer Woodward and her husband Jeremy and Michael Whitty and his fiancé Monica Metzger; grandchildren Emily Whitty, Evan Clark, Elizabeth Clark, Thomas Samuel Whitty, Simon Whitty, Maxwell Whitty, Madeline Woodward, Mason Woodward and Emily Metzger; five brothers, Mark, David, Richard, Cary and Daniel; and many more relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help establish a chiropractic scholarship in his honor. These memorial donations can be made payable to the Dr. Thomas R.
