Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many was born to Henry Harrison Stepanek and Amelia Isabelle Stepanek (nee Kiefer) on November 18, 1932 in Hawk Point, MO.
Earl graduated from Troy Buchannon High School in the early 1950s and then furthered his education with the Sanford Brown Business school. Following business school Earl continued his family military legacy by enlisting in the Navy during the Korean War conflict era. He honorably served our country from 1952-1956. Once he completed his Naval service he attended the University of Missouri and obtained his Bachelor degree in business administration in 1960. When Earl completed his studies and education he married the love of his life Annette Kadlec on September 2, 1961 in Troy, MO
His long time career was with the Army Records Center in Overland, MO. Earl retired in 1989. Not one to be at ease in retirement he served his community in many fashions. Including, the Bridgeton girls softball manager for 10 years; a webelo scout leader; an Oasis tutor and playground duty at St. Paul School for 5 years; a Depaul hospital volunteer for 25 years as well as active involvement in St. Paul Catholic church in St. Paul, MO as a weekly adorer at Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
His hobbies and interest included working in his yard, especially planting flowers. He greatly enjoyed attending high school sporting events and cheering on the local young athletes in a variety of activities. Above all his love of God, family and friends took precedence. His adoring wife and children described him as an ethical, humble, considerate and a quiet natured man.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Amelia Stepanek; his siblings: Mildred, Harry, Ruth, Elmer, Virginia, Leroy, and Homer.
