Edgar "Wray" Ruggles Obituary

Edgar “Wray” Ruggles, age 67, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026.

Wray was born in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Carl and Verna (Scarberry) Ruggles.

In 1998, he married the love of his life, Linda McDonald, and together they shared more than 25 years of marriage.

Wray had a deep love for life and a genuine, generous heart. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and took great joy in staying connected with those he loved. Known for his curiosity and creativity, Wray was a true technology wizard who enjoyed video games and computer technology. He also had a lifelong passion for cars-especially Corvettes-and found joy both in working on them and taking long, carefree drives.

Music was another great love of Wray’s life. A fan of classic rock, he played the guitar and found peace and expression through music.

Wray is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (McDonald) Ruggles; his sons, Rodger (Tiffenie) Ruggles of St. Louis, Missouri, and Andrew Roth of Chesterfield, Missouri; his daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Darks of O'Fallon, Missouri; and his cherished grandchildren, Alyson, Lauren, Kaylee, Tony, Jasmine, and Makenzie, who brought him endless pride and joy.
He is also survived by his brother, Rodger (Dee) Ruggles of Independence, Missouri; his sister, Linda Volpe of Warrensburg, Missouri; his brother-in-law, John Jones of Pataskala, Ohio; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Wray was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Verna (Scarberry) Ruggles; his brothers, Carl Ruggles and Mike Ruggles; and his sisters, Nancy Jones and Janet Soltesz.
