Edwin Allen Black

Edwin Allen Black passed away on October 12, 2025 at the age of 75.  Ed was born September 19, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to the late Lowell and Ruth Black nee Davidson. Ed graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1968. Ed had a great love for locomotives. Trains were always a fascination to him from little to adulthood. Ed married the love of his life on May 24, 2003 in St. Louis, MO.  He loved listening to music, gospel music was his favorite, writing poetry, and enjoyed church fellowship. Ed truly cherished his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife Mary Black nee Briggs; three sons, Brian  Black, John Black, Tim (Jennifer) Williams; daughter, Lisa (Jacob) Albers; five grandchildren, Madison Black, Hannah  Albers, Grace Albers, Gracelynn Williams and Samuel  Williams.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lowell Elmo Black, mother, Ruth Black; daughter in law, Amanda Black
Ed's kind, gentle spirit will live on in all those lives he has touched.
