Elizabeth Hawkins Obituary

Elizabeth was born in 1930 and graduated from New London High School in 1948. In 1950, she and Bill Hawkins were married.  Bill was drafted into the United States Marine Corps and they moved to Camp Pendleton CA. While there, they enjoyed many site seeing trips all over the West. One of her favorite stories to tell was going to the mountains and then the beach in the same day. Bill was discharged in 1953 and they returned home to MO.  In 1960, she started working for the Wentzville School District. After a short period of time, she was promoted to Supervisor of Transportation. She enjoyed working in this role until she retired in the mid 1980’s. She lived in Wentzville until 2023 when she moved to Mount Carmel Senior Living. She enjoyed playing bingo, painting ceramics and making jewelry.  She delighted in watching old movies and listening to old music.  Her favorite songs were, Unforgettable by Nat King Cole, Moon River by Andy Williams, Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland, and Amazing Grace.  She delighted in the little things in life and will always be remembered for her optimistic personality.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lisa (Timothy) Clubb of Scottsdale, Arizona; her adored six grandchildren, Sarah, Aron (Nicole), David, Annalee, Shannon, and Spencer (Yurani); and her two treasured great-grandchildren, Samuel and Sawyer. She is preceded in death by her late husband, William L. Hawkins, her beloved son, Mark L. Hawkins, her parents, Samuel L. and Arena Strode (née Rosser), and her siblings, Jack, Samuel, William "Bubby" Strode, and Emily Musgrove.
