Ella Grace Donovan, of Lake St. Louis, gained her angel wings November 22, 2025 at the age of 18 after a courageous and difficult battle with cancer. Throughout her journey, she held a strong and deeply personal faith in Jesus-one that was evident in the words she spoke and every life she touched. Ella's light reached family, friends, the medical teams who cared for her, and even the countless strangers and prayer groups who supported her from afar-many of whom she never had the chance to meet. All who knew of her were moved by her strength, her kindness, and the profound grace with which she faced every challenge.
With a genuine heart of gold, Ella was someone who always put others first. Whether through a warm conversation, a thoughtful gesture, or her quiet strength, she made those around her feel valued and cared for.
Ella also had a delightful love for the finer and more joyful things in life. She adored shopping and took pride in looking her best-stylish, full of personality, and always putting care into her beautiful hair and makeup. She even had a special affection for her car, lovingly nicknamed “Gerald,” which brought her joy and became a charming part of her story.
She is survived by her loving parents, Rusty and Christine (Knight) Donovan; her favorite little sister, Aubrey Marie Donovan; her grandparents, James and Jana Donovan, Glen and Annette Sutton, and Greg and Donna Knight; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and her beloved Cain and Benny (mini goldendoodles).
Ella’s legacy is one of faith, love, and gentle strength. She leaves behind a lasting imprint on the hearts of family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
