Ethel Meyer Obituary

Ethel B. Meyer of Wentzville passed away on April 20, 2022 at the age of 91 years. She was the loving wife of Marvin Meyer, who preceded her in death on March 25, 2017.  They were happily married for 64 years.  She was born on December 30, 1930 in Wentzville, MO; daughter of the late Urban J. and Isabel G. (Molitor) Mueller.

Ethel was the loving mother of five children. She is survived by her two sons, Chris "Herm" Meyer of Wentzville, MO, Willie (Julie) Meyer of Wentzville, MO; three daughters, Pat Schafermeyer of University City, MO, Mary (Scott) Brown of St. Charles, MO, Laurie Meyer of Wentzville, MO; eight grandchildren, Julia Schafermeyer, Valerie (Jon) Mansfield, Adam (Kim) Brown, Erica (Chad) Isenberg, Rachel Brown, Emily Brown, Brad Meyer, Dana Meyer; two great-grandchildren, Vi Brown and Savannah Brown. Ethel was an aunt to many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law to Vivian Bauer and Earl (Pam) Meyer.

Ethel was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wentzville, MO, quilted with church groups, and Quilts of Valor.  Her children and grandchildren were recipients of her many quilted gifts.  She worked as a lunch lady for Wentzville School District in the cafeterias into her 70's.  Ethel enjoyed summer road trips with Marvin to attend bluegrass festivals and visit distant relatives and friends.  She was also a great baker, especially baking of both cookies and pies. Most of all, Ethel loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Richard J Mueller, sisters, Beatrice  Burnham and Mildred Schuler.

For the loving care and thoughtfulness given to Ethel, the Meyer family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to Louise's Caring Hands, Colleen Grillo, and Community Loving Hospice Care.
