Francis W. Mischkot was born in Butte, Montana on October 18, 1938 and passed away in St. Louis, Missouri on August 10, 2025. Though now is the time for us to grieve “Frank”, his time for grieving the love of his life Anna and his beloved son Frankie is over. He is with them now and forever at peace, free from the burdens of his life, and after knowing life’s greatest joys.
Frank, known closely as Papa, Papapapa, dad, brother, and friend has traveled to the next world where thoughts of a 40-year career supplying Butte’s mining industry, decades of fun and comradery at Star Lanes Bowling Alley and Highland View Golf course will fade to pleasant memories. Big game in the mountains of Montana and trout in the Big Hole River are forever safe as are the referees at Butte High and Montana Tech Oredigger football games.
Frank enjoyed his hobbies and pastimes with his living sons John and Michael and long ago with his departed brothers Phillip and Jimmy. Frank found comfort and endless advice from his sisters Paulette, Rosanne, Wilma and Hazel, growing up on a farm at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Amherst. Frank’s dad Phillip and mother Annie passed decades ago.
Frank also leaves behind four grandchildren and three great grandchildren for whom he could not be more proud.
Frank will be laid to rest with his wife Anna in Butte, MT on May 30th, 2026. In lieu of flowers or other gifts to the family, Frank would be proud to have his memory honored by making donations to the Frank Mischkot Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Butte High School, 401 W. Mercury St., Butte, MT 59701.
