Frederick Steven Simonsen passed away on September 8, 2025 at the age of 76. Fred was born January 16, 1949 in Chicago, IL to the late Willie and Beatrice Simonsen nee Wilcox.
Fred married the love of his life Kathleen Tatro on October 30, 1969 and they celebrated almost 56 years together. Shortly after Fred was married he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served from 1969-1972 when he received Honorable Discharge as a SP5. After Fred's service, he became a painter with the Painters District Council #2 and dedicated 40 years as a Union Painter.
Fred was a music enthusiast and loved playing any and all of his guitars, whether he was playing the blues or classic rock, he absolutely hated when his illness took away his love for playing the guitar. Fred's hobbies included playing golf with his sons and best friends, watching sports especially baseball and football and auto racing. Fred's greatest joy was taking care of his family, he was always there for them no matter what was happening. Fred's consistent hard work will be fondly remembered by all who knew him well
