Fredrick Flake Obituary

Fredrick "Fred"  Flake, Jr. passed away on June 10, 2025 at the age of 87.
Fredrick Clifford Flake, Jr. was born on January 19, 1938 in St. Louis, MO to the late Clifford and Mary Flake nee Buxbaum from St. Louis, MO. On August 2, 1958, Fred married the love of his life Barbara Ann Cameron from Warrenton, and they spent 54 years together before her passing in 2012. Fred served his country in the Army National Guard for 8 years.
Fred was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. He had given 65 years as a member of the Local 3202 Carpenters Union, 18 years as Board of Alderman for the City of Warrenton, 30 year member of District Carpenters Council of St. Louis, and a lifelong member of the NRA.  As a professional carpenter Fred was proud to have helped with the building of homes belonging to Jack Clark, Ozzie Smith and Whitey Herzog.

Fred loved spending his spare time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hunting, fishing, watching Cardinal baseball, loved telling a good joke and old stories, and keeping up with what was going on in the city of Warrenton. Fred was a lifelong viewer of the WWE, and a devoted KWRE listener.
He is survived by his son, Tim (Ellen) Flake of Warrenton, MO; daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Groeper of Warrenton, MO; brother, Edward (Loretta) Flake of Warrenton, MO; sister-in-law, Jackie  Flake; 5 grandchildren, Jason, Julie, Ben, Abby, and Erin, 3 great-grandchildren Gabriella, Charlotte, and Finley; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents,  wife, Barbara Flake, daughter, Debra Kay Flake, and 2 brothers, Jake Flake, Eugene (Lucy) Flake.  
Freds smile, compassion and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
