Glenda Joyce Hall, born August 22,1934 in Cooter Missouri, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus May 5, 2022.
How do I tell you about this woman who was a wife, mother, and grandmother to us?
One word that comes to mind is laughter. Our home was filled with laughter. Our home was a gathering place. There was always a game of rook, or cards or a game of some kind going on, and mom was at the center of it all. She never wanted to miss out on the fun. She made us laugh often and loud.
She had been a single mother with three children to raise, Brenda, Keith and Scott. It wasn’t easy, but she worked hard. She prayed that God would give her a good job with a man’s salary. God answered that prayer, and we are a bit proud to say that she was the first woman letter carrier in Overland, Missouri. It was hard work, but she was grateful every day for her job.
God brought Jim into her life and he was the love of her life. When they married, she gained her third son, Morgan, another son to love.
She was born to be a homemaker, and she was thrilled when she was able to leave the post office behind her to take care of her family full time.
She had a servant’s heart. If you came to her house, she was going to be cooking you a good old fashioned country meal. We especially loved her fried chicken.
Another word that describes her is, devoted. She was devoted to her family and she was devoted to God. She was a prayer warrior. She prayed for each member of her family daily. She loved reading her Bible. She was strong willed and feisty.
We, her family, Brenda married to Obie, Keith married to Angie, Scott, her baby, and Morgan married to Kathy, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim, her devoted husband of forty-six years will miss her terribly. She was the center of our family. But we know where she is. She is in heaven. Yes, we will miss her, but we are celebrating her. A good woman, a good wife, a good mother, and a life well lived!
Celebration of Life for Glenda will be Monday, May 9, 2022 at 3pm at the First Baptist Church Wentzville, Missouri.
