Harriet E. Pitman (née: Heimlich) of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on January 16, 2026 at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late James "Jim" Pitman; She is survived by her son, T. Eric Pitman (Becky) of Wentzville, MO; daughter, Angela (Joe) Kortkamp of Wentzville, MO; grandchildren, Kelsey (Chase), Katanna, Kevin, Kendall, Max, Olivia and A.J.; She is preceded in death by her father, Waldemar Heimlich, mother, Lyland Heimlich (née: Orr).
Harriet Heimlich was born in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late Waldemar and Lyland Heimlich (née: Orr). She graduated from William Woods University, earning her bachelor’s degree, and went on to work for many years at Alcoa Warrick Operations in Indiana.
Harriet was united in marriage to Jim on June 2, 1957. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Eric and Angela.
Harriet was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville. She also assisted in her community by working at Pitman Funeral Home for many years. Harriet gave generously of her time as a Girl Scout leader, volunteered with the blood mobile, sang with Choral Arts, and enjoyed playing the organ.
Harriet loved to travel and found great joy in being near the water, especially fishing. She treasured her social life, visiting, talking with friends, and going out to dinner.
Above all, Harriet was a devoted wife, mother, and a cherished nano, whose love and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
