Heather (Hicks) Pickens-Hollis Obituary

Heather Pickens-Hollis, age 50, passed away on April 17, 2026. Born on January 19, 1976, she was the beloved daughter of William and Karen Hicks.


Heather grew up with a strong sense of family and community. She graduated from Parkway Central High School in 1994 and went on to further her education at the University of Phoenix, where she earned her degree in Business Management. Throughout her life, Heather was known for her leadership and dedication, especially through her active involvement with local Boy and Girl Scouts, where she touched the lives of many young people.


Above all else, Heather cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in supporting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. 


Heather is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Michael Hollis; her children, Zach (Lizzie) Pickens, Emily Pickens, and Madeline Hollis; her brother, John (Karen) Hicks; and her cherished grandchildren, Oliver and Owen Pickens. She is also survived by her cousins, Kathy Stubbe, Michael Stubbe, and Lynn Tullis.


She was preceded in death by her father, William Paul Hicks, and her mother, Karen Elizabeth (Raymond) Hicks.


Heather’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever remember her kindness, strength, and the deep love she shared with those around her.
