Fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, Henry W. Sachs passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the age of 94.
Henry proudly worked at O'Fallon Gas as manager for 38 years. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in O’Fallon. He served as a board member at the St. Joseph Hospitals in St. Charles County, Community Living for the Handicapped, and on multiple other boards in St. Charles County over the years. He was a charter member of Kiwanis Club in O’Fallon and was selected to the St. Charles County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame (for baseball).
He is survived by his four sons, Michael (Teri) Sachs of St. Louis, MO; James (Kathleen) Sachs of St. Louis, MO, Charles Sachs of St. Louis, MO, Eric (Chrissy) Sachs of O'Fallon, MO; daughter, Patricia (Dale) Ballmann of Flint Hill, MO; two brothers, Thomas (Judy) Sachs of Flint Hill, MO, Ronald (Pat) Sachs of Flint Hill, MO; sister, Margie Orf of St. Charles, MO; sister-in-law, Geri Sachs of O'Fallon, MO; special friend, Jerry Kirchoff of O'Fallon, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Lauren (Todd), Allison (Louie), Jeff (Cody), Morgan (Jon), Dana (Darren), Andy (Erynn), Teddy, John, Mary, Patrick, Sam, Casey, Josie; 12 great-grandchildren; He is preceded in death by his father, Henry J. Sachs, mother, Wilhelmina E. Sachs (nee Wehde), wife, Jane V. Sachs (nee Liermann), brother, Robert Sachs, sister, Rosemary Debrecht, brothers-in-law, Fritz Debrecht and Bill Orf, grandson, Brad.
