Herbert "Herbie" Furness, 72, of Wright City, MO passed away on May 20, 2022 in Lake St. Louis, MO.
Herbert was born on July 17, 1949 in St. Louis, MO the son of James C. Furness, Sr. and Rosemary F. (Bucholz) Furness who preceded him in death. Herbie enlisted in USMC at the age of 17 where he proudly served his country from 1967 - 1971 during the Vietnam War. He was active in the U. S. Marine Corps Force Recon (Special Operations).
In later years, he worked at Warren County Sheltered Workshop, Inc. in Warrenton, MO.
He is survived by his two daughters, Andrea (John) Rose DeWeese, of St. Peters, MO and Lisa (Ken) DeHart of Eugene, OR; two brothers, John (Kathleen) Furness of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and James (Lynn) Furness, Jr. of Versailles, KY; sister, Gloria Anderson of Mexico, MO; four nephews, Jack Furness, James (Lolita) Owen, David (Candy) Polston, Clinton (Kim) Polston; seven nieces, Stephanie (Barry) Mahar, Amanda Kay, Gloria Furness, Pam Martinez, Debby (Randy) Davis, Jackie (Bill) Duckworth Carmen (John) Metheny; three grandchildren, Billy, Davis, and Christopher; He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Russell Furness, sisters, Barbara Owen and Janice Roam. He will be dearly missed by many family, friends, and co-workers.
