James E. Fry, passed away on January 6, 2025, in Jonesburg, MO. Born on September 25, 1939, in Bachelor, MO, to the late Raymond and Ruby Fry nee McCormack.
Jim married Joan Garrett, the love of his life, on June 16, 1962, at Jonesburg Christian Church. Their union was blessed with a lifetime of shared moments and three wonderful children: Eddie, Tommy and Tina.
Jim's dedication to his country was evident when he was drafted into the U.S. Army in April 1963, he served proudly until April 1965. Following his military service, Jim embarked on a career as an auto carrier out of Wentzville and was a member of the Teamsters Union. In Jim's younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Even after retirement, Jim continued to work, hauling cattle for Terry Broocke, which allowed him to remain active.. In his leisure, Jim was often found with a newspaper in hand or watching sports on TV, talking with friends, and taking trips with his brother, reveling in the simple pleasures of life.
Above all, Jim was a family man through and through. His family was the center of his universe, and nothing delighted him more than hearing about the adventures and achievements of his grandchildren. His pride and his support for them was unwavering.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Joan Fry nee Garrett ; He is survived by his three children Eddie Fry, Tommy (Amy) Fry, Tina Flake; 8 grandchildren, Tiffani (Dillon) Ruch, Trevor (Alyssa) Bradshaw, Hope (Dominic Schwartz) Fry, Kelley Fry, Ryan Bradshaw, Jacob Fry, Olivia Flake, Ava Flake; 4 great-grandchildren, Brynn Turner, Margo Bradshaw, Bennett Ruch and Romy Schwartz; three brothers, Larry (Charlotte), Robert (Alvina) and, Richard (Sharon) Fry; two sisters-in-law, Cookie Garrett, Patti (Tom) Hopper; brother-in-law, Ronnie Garrett.; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Gladys Fry, father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Marie Garrett, daughter-in-law, Ellen Fry and brother-in-law, Robert Garrett.
His legacy will endure in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
