James William Inghram of Lake St. Louis, MO passed away on September 7, 2022 at the age of 78.
James was born on September 17, 1943 in Burlington, IA to Frank W. and Prudence (Ballard Miller) Inghram. He grew up in Burlington, IA where he met and married his high school sweetheart Jerilee D. Thye and later graduated from the University of Iowa.
He began his career at the University of Iowa Computer Center and went on to spend the majority of his work life with Hewlett Packard. Jim and Jerilee spent many years in Iowa City, IA raising their family before moving to the St. Louis area.
In retirement, he spent his time golfing, working on his 32’ Chevy hotrod, singing with the Ambassadors of Harmony and his church choir, and serving his church and community in many ways. He was often found doing projects at home, but shared his many talents and creativity in helping others. He was truly a “jack of all trades.” He and Jerilee celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary just before his passing.
James is survived by his wife, Jerilee D. (Thye) Inghram, his daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Lumpa of Cottleville, MO and Jamee (Matt) Pugh of Iowa City, IA; his brother, Frank Inghram of Mason City, IA; six grandchildren, Jayden, Keagan, Levi, Jacy, Naomi, Judah; three great-grandchildren, Holland, Violet, Zealand.
He loved and adored his family and found great joy spending time with them. He had a joyful spirit, a smile on his face and great sense of humor. He will be missed by the many lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life with be held on September 17, 2022 at Chapel of the Lake Church in Lake St. Louis, MO. The visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations received will be given to charities close to Jim’s heart.
