James R. Sayers, Sr.

James Russell Sayers, Sr. of Jonesburg, MO passed away on November 13, 2021 at the age of 91.
James was born on March 7, 1930 in Gresham, Oregon to Raymond J. Sayers and Ethel Franks Sayers.  He married Betty L. Waldron on August 8, 1953 in Nevada. James and Betty were married 50 years, five children were born to this marriage; three sons, Russell "Russ" Sayers, Jr. of Buckner, MO, Kenny R. (Vita) Sayers of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Jay C. (Carol) Sayers of O Fallon, MO; two daughters, Linda (Charlie) Lander of Fulton, MO, Susan (Maury) Mittler of Washington, MO. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
James served in the U.S. Navy in Korea from 1950-1954.  Later he worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft and retired after 35 years.   
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, Raymond Sayers, Dick Sayers, Paul Sayers, and one sister, Mae Johnson.  
James was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by many family and friends.
