James A. Strange of Burfordville, Missouri, passed away on January 28, 2025 at the age of 43. He is survived by his father "Art" (Mary Beth) Strange of Overland Park, KS; mother Rebecca Strange (nee: Pittsenbarger) of Independence, Missouri; five sisters, Jennifer Hughes, JR and Michael of Bloomington, IL, Karen Corn of Blue Springs, MO, Andrea (Jacob) Coburn of Kansas City, MO, Christina (David) Curtis of Overland Park, KS, Katherine (Andy) Jasso of Sugar Creek, MO; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
James, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and devoted dog dad, passed away after a brave battle with health challenges that shaped his final years. Born with a vibrant spirit, James had a profound love for his family and his three cherished dogs. He formed deep bonds with a close-knit group of friends throughout his life, creating memories that would last a lifetime. His passions spanned a wide range, from the thrilling universes of Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek. A true enthusiast of music, he found joy in the sounds of classic rock and classical melodies, often enjoying insightful podcasts in his leisure time. In recent months, James embarked on a new chapter in Southern Missouri to “do life”, seeking a different pace of life alongside his childhood friend, Dustin Wildharber, and his family. The serene surroundings, new home (had a pond right out back), provided a refreshing change from his previous city life. He embraced this new community, relishing the friendships and opportunities that came his way. Despite the joys of his new home, he often felt the ache of missing his family, a poignant reminder of the difficult health events that had kept them apart. Though his life was cut short, James's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His dreams may not have come to fruition, but his essence will be felt by many. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories we shared and the laughter he brought into our lives.
James, the wheat fields are gone my son. Until we meet again all our love, always.
